Gift Acceptance Policy

Purpose

This policy outlines the principles guiding Poverty Solutions (“the Ministry”) in accepting and managing charitable contributions. It ensures that all gifts align with our mission and are utilized effectively to further our objectives.

Policy Statement

Poverty Solutions gratefully accepts donations to support its mission. While we strive to honor donors’ preferences regarding the use of their contributions, the Ministry reserves the right to allocate funds where they are most needed to fulfill our mission.

Guidelines

  1. Unrestricted Gifts: Donations without specific designations will be directed to areas of greatest need, as determined by the Ministry.

  2. Restricted Gifts: When donors specify a particular purpose for their gift, the Ministry will make every effort to apply the funds accordingly. If circumstances change or the designated program is no longer viable, the Ministry reserves the right to reallocate the funds to a similar purpose that aligns with the donor’s original intent.

  3. Non-Cash Gifts: The Ministry accepts non-cash contributions, such as securities or tangible property, subject to evaluation. These gifts will be assessed for their suitability and potential impact on the Ministry’s operations.

  4. Legal and Ethical Compliance: All gifts must comply with applicable laws and ethical standards. The Ministry reserves the right to decline any gift that may compromise its integrity or mission.

Donor Acknowledgment

The Ministry is committed to acknowledging all donations promptly and transparently, providing appropriate documentation for tax purposes.

Review and Amendments

This policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure its relevance and effectiveness. The Ministry reserves the right to amend this policy as necessary.
